Hey guys. I keep seeing a different Devilman manga series on Yahoo Auctions. They aren't but Go Nagai, but seem to have been published the same year as the TV series/original manga. It's had a number of reprints over the years. Does anyone have any info on this series?

I only know that it's a straight comicalization of the old anime (and the last cover says that the author is Mitsuru Hiruta or something)

Yeah, that's what I assumed (the underwear seems to make that obivious)

I wanted to know if anyone had any scans, or knew more about it. (like is Lala in it?, how does it end? etc.)

Hi Umino. Yes, indeed it's a comicalization of the TV series, like Kakiyoin said, and the author is Mitsuru Hiruta. It was first published in Bouken Ou magazine (Akita Shoten), in parallel with the TV series. Being, a comicalization on a monthly basis, the story is basically the same as the TV series with one exception: like in the original manga, it is Akira Fudo who takes over Devilman, and not the other way around, as it happens in the anime (Akira is killed and Devilman takes over his body, Devilman maintains his identity). Also, being a comicalization on a monthly basis, it doesn't have the exact same span as the anime: some of the demons that appear in the anime are present, but not Lala. I hope this pieces of info were useful to you.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it ends the same as the TV series?

Not exactly. The last opponent Devilman faces in this comicalization is Dorimoon (episode 38). The episode ends like the one in the TV series. After that Devilman declares he will accept any other challenge the demons will throw, thus ending the manga.
